Switching Up Your Cardio Can Change Everything

Dread running endless miles to get your cardio in? Me too trust me. The wonderful thing about cardio is that there are so many alternatives. It doesn’t have to be boring. If you’re not an avid marathon runner then why train like one? I’m going to shed some light on some other common cardio options.

HIIT, high intensity interval training. This method is becoming more and more popular amongst a whole array of athletes because you can customize it to your preferences and comfortability while burning a ton of calories in a short amount of time. For example, a typical HIIT session may consist of 4-5 exercises with 3 rounds, 20 seconds work and 10 seconds of rest. It’s just a great option because it’s for anyone from beginners to professional athletes whether you decide to crank it up a few notches or keep it at moderate it’s totally up to the individual.


If you are stuck on that treadmill don’t kill yourself just yet. To make time go by faster try videos over music. Also try other machines like the stairmaster or stepmill for all those ladies (or men) that want those buns of steel these are very good glute building lus cardio machines to work with. Squeeze your glute during each step or skip a step and contract those glutes. Same can be done to get your calves working too. So don’t get too discouraged cardio may not the most fun part of fitness but it doesn’t have to be horrible either. Variety is the key to consistency and success.
